Mrs Kane’s Year 6 class had a fantastic time taking part in the “Unleash Your Drive” programme!
Over the course of the sessions, the children learnt a range of new golf skills, including putting, chipping and control, all while enjoying fun and engaging activities. Just as importantly, they also developed key mental toughness skills such as confidence, focus, resilience and staying positive as part of the programme — skills that will be useful not only in sport but in their everyday school life as well.
It was great to see the enthusiasm and effort from everyone as well as the progress they made each week. The pupils really embraced the challenge and supported one another throughout.
A big thank you to Gerry McCann of NJOYGOLF from Ballymena Golf Club and working in conjunction with Golf Ireland for leading each session. His time, encouragement and support are very much appreciated and helped make the experience so enjoyable for the children.
Well done to all of Year 6 — it was a brilliant experience!
