Year 6 have been bringing Maths to life with creativity, teamwork and plenty of hands on learning.
Recently, they put their compass skills to the test by exploring the eight points of the compass. Armed with a set of clues, pupils carefully followed directional instructions to navigate their way around the playground. Each clue led them to spell our secret words.
The fun didn’t stop there. During their 3D shapes unit, they investigated nets and properties of different shapes. Using Clixi, the children constructed and deconstructed a range of 3D models to understand how nets fold into solid shapes. They then used art straws and Blu Tack to build their own 3D frameworks, exploring edges, vertices and faces in a hands on way.
