Primary 2 Shared Education
25th Nov 2025
Our Primary 2 children visited Carniny Primary School as part of our Shared Education programme where they had special talk from two local police officers.
The officers spoke to the children about the many important roles the police have within our community. The pupils learned how the police help keep everyone safe, and work with families and schools to keep our communities secure.
The children were especially interested in seeing some of the police equipment up close. The officers showed them items such as their handcuffs and body-worn camera, explaining how and why each piece is used. The pupils asked lots of brilliant questions and listened carefully as the officers described what their job is like.
A key focus was also on stranger danger. The officers explained what to do if they ever feel unsafe or if they become separated from a grown-up. The children were taught some simple steps such as looking for a safe adult, like a police officer or shop assistant, and knowing how to ask for help.
A big thank-you to the staff at Carniny Primary School and the visiting police officers.
