Pastoral Care Week

14th Nov 2025

What a lovely week we’ve had in St. Colmcille’s celebrating Pastoral Care Week 🥰

Under the general theme of “Power For Good” the Pupil Council decided to focus all our actions and activities on RESPECT. This included Respect for Ourselves, Others, the Environment and Property.

The Eco Council and Pupil Council braved the rain and wind to do a tidy up of our school grounds; we tidied up the flower beds, sorted plant pots and organised the play equipment for break and lunch time.

Each class spent a lot of time during the week considering what it means to show Respect. Our ideas were recorded on letters and displayed on our classroom doors; now everyone can see that Respect is visible throughout the school!

We were also assigned a “Secret Buddy” in our class 🤫 Throughout the week we made an extra-special effort to show great kindness and friendship to our buddies. This came in many forms… smiling faces, friendly greetings, notes and even some gifts! All the staff took part too, creating a real buzz of excitement around the school. Some buddies revealed themselves at the end of the week… and some of us are still guessing who it might have been 🤔

Maggie and Emma from the Canteen rounded the week off perfectly by providing a lovely break for staff in the form of freshly baked scones… a welcome treat indeed!
