What a wonderful week we had in St. Colmcille’s celebrating all the different nationalities and cultures of our school community!
Did you know that our pupils come from 14 different countries around the world?
We had exciting visits from Masako who came to tell some Japanese stories to our Year 3 and Year 7 pupils. Year 4 and 5 took part in a relaxing Chinese Fan Dance lesson with Wei Hong while the Year 6s participated in a high-energy African Drumming session with Wilson.
In Year 1 the boys and girls learned about the Dragon of Krakow while the Year 2s were treated to some Romanian vocabulary lessons. We also learned how to say “Good morning” in 12 different languages and found out some facts about countries where our pupils come from. Some parents even baked traditional pastries from different countries. What a busy week! And what a talented bunch of pupils, parents and adults we have!
