Year 3 have been learning about Castles in their local environment. We set off on Tuesday morning searching for clues of where Ballymena Castle once stood.
We walked up Castle Street and found the old entrance to the castle at St.Patrick’s church. Nearby we found a plaque revealing the castle had been demolished in the 1950s.
In place of the castle, now stands the Seven Towers Leisure Centre.
The children enjoyed finding out about the history of Ballymena.
