Primary 2 were delighted to welcome children’s author Mr Derek Keilty to school for a very special visit. Mr Keilty spoke to the children about his journey to becoming an author and shared how he creates characters from his books, including the popular Ivy Newt.
The visit was full of fun and surprises as Mr Keilty entertained the children with magic tricks and fantastic voices of some famous characters. One of the highlights was listening to Mr Keilty read a chapter from one of his books, which completely captured everyone’s attention.
The children asked lots of interesting and thoughtful questions about writing stories and creating books. There may even be some future authors in Primary 2.
