Eco-Schools is a programme for environmental management, certification and sustainable development education for schools. Its holistic, participatory approach and combination of learning and action make it an ideal way for schools to embark on a meaningful path to improving the environments of schools and their local communities, and of influencing the lives of young people, school staff and families involved in this vitally important area of work. The school received its fourth Eco-Schools Green Flag in May 2016.
The school’s Eco Council are elected annually to further develop the school’s environmental projects. Miss Stewart, the lead teacher, meets with the Council on a regular basis to discuss the success of current initatives and plan other projects that the pupils could lead in making our school more environmentally conscious.
The ECO Council has issued questionnaires to pupils, staff and parents to gather information and the views of everyone on how the Council’s work could be further developed. Click on the link below to see the outcome from the consultations.
